Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a final set.

Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a return after a lengthy match.
